A rooftop solar power system, or rooftop PV system, is a photovoltaic (PV) system that has its electricity-generating solar panels mounted on the rooftop of a residential or commercial building or structure. FAQs

Net metering is a device installed by electricity board to measure import and export of power in the grid. When a customer consumes more power than it generates, power flows from the grid and the meter runs forward. When a customer installation generates more power than it consumes, power flows into the grid and the meter runs backward. The customer pays only for the net amount of electricity used in each billing period.
The average cost of grid connected rooftop solar systems is about Rs. 60,000 per KW.
About 10sq.m area is required to set up 1 kWp grid connected rooftop solar system.
Solar photovoltaic panels have no moving parts, and therefore require little maintenance, which will include module cleaning with water every 2-4 weeks and preventive electrical maintenance every 3 months.
